February with the Colemans

We are right in the midst of birthday party palooza. Virtually every kid we know has a birthday between January and April! Every year I buy presents in bulk and prepare for busy weekends. Sarah is in heaven! She wishes every day was a birthday party day. Here is the most recent party we attended.

Sarah's good friend Lily had a dinosaur themed 4th birthday party at her house. Sarah had a great time playing all the games that Lily's mom created.

Sarah is really into dressing like the Disney princesses these days. We bought her this Belle dress for her birthday. She is so cute when she runs around the house acting like a princess! Today she let me in on her play. I was the fairy Godmother! Luckily the next birthday party we are attending will be a Princess tea party. Do you think she is excited? You bet!
> Mom bought Sarah some Princess Wigs last year for Christmas. Boy are they getting used now (by young and old)!

I love those blue eyes and her cute little nose. She is really changing lately. She is trying her best to roll over (if she could only move that arm).



She is such a sweet little Mommy's girl.

Sarah could just eat her with a spoon! I can't wait to see these two grow up together. I just know they will be close!



Leah has been a sick little girl during her short 4 months on planet earth. Between reflux and two ear infections, she has had little reason to smile. I am so happy when I can catch her cute smile on camera!

I like to call this her "Wasssuppp" expression. She loves to stick out her tongue. Especially when she is getting kisses!

She likes to sit up, it helps with her reflux issues. But I also think she likes seeing what is going on from this vantage point.


I have so few photos with Leah, I attempted to take one at arms length. Check out her expression. Priceless!

Sarah loves to take photos, so she snapped one of me. I call it "exhausted but happy". I am so looking forward to Spring so that I can officially introduce Leah to the outside world. I can't wait for our Spring and Summer adventures to come. Stay tuned!

New hairdo and snow too!

Sarah is now a 4 year old! I can see the little woman appearing more and more each day. Latest example: Dad takes Sarah to the hair dresser. She walks up and tells the lady exactly what type of hairstyle she wants. Chris lets her do all the talking . The result is really pretty! See below.

Sarah loves to "snuggle" with Leah all the time. I am not sure how much Leah enjoys this now, but perhaps she will soon.

What a cheeser!

It is probably one of the snowiest years of my lifetime to date. I only wish I could get out in it more often. Leah is just too little to venture out just yet. She is very ready for the snow season to end so she can get out and actually see the world!

Sarah went out front to try and make an igloo with a ice block maker that Mamaw gave her.

Sarah also attempted to sled in our backyard, but is not having much luck by herself.

She may not be sledding, but least she is stylin'. Ha!

Leah is changing so much. She is now over three months old. She is beginning to grasp items, and she has the cutest smile. She loves blowing bubbles, and she can roll to her side. Fun times for a three month old!

She also seems to love her "baby" as much as Sarah loves her yellow one. Hilarious!

Sarah is a wonderful big sister. Leah is so lucky to have a sister who cares for her so much. She loves to dangle toys for her, sing and read to her, and give huge kisses!


What a beauty! Brown is definitely a great color for Leah. We are blessed with two wonderful kiddos!

Christmas 2009 (finally!)

Well gang, I am only a month (plus) late posting our Christmas photos. Better late than never I always say. We had a great Christmas staying close to home this year. Sarah enjoyed this one more than any so far. We had great fun making gingerbread houses, hot chocolate, Christmas cookies, and many other calorie packed treats this year. I guess this is why my baby weight is coming off sooo slowly! Sarah read Christmas and snow themed books the entire month and asked such questions as, "Do you think I will hear Santa's reindeer hooves on the roof this year?" I love it! Christmas just gets more fun every year. Now with two kids, we can count on twice the fun!
Amy came over Christmas week due to her work break to color some Christmas pictures with Sarah. Good times!

And mommy with her big girl. We have become accustomed with the "man on man" approach to parenting now. I don't know how parents do it when they are out numbered! Whew!

The next morning, Sarah found herself in the land of Wi when Santa brought her a Mario/Sonic Olympic game. She has played it everyday since!

Santa also brought her a Snow White DVD and this beautiful Snow white sleeping gown. She was in heaven!

Then we moved down the street to have Christmas with Chris's family on Christmas day.

As you can see, Sarah had a technology filled Christmas this year. She got multiple Wi games, a Leap Pad, a Leapster, and a Digital Art studio. I can honestly say that this is the first year that she actually plays daily with her gifts. She was never a toy person, but I think she is becoming a "techno geek"(I mean this only in the most loving way possible)! Just like her uncle and Papaw from the mountains!

I received the best gift from Amy...She bound my blog from the past two years! It is the most special and precious gift ever! I can't wait to show the girls when they grow up. (Sniff Sniff...)

Leah on the other hand, was content to sleep in Ma maw's arms. Next year will be sooooo different!

Leah got a talking dog which frightened her at first, but has since become one of her favorite toys!

It was a great holiday filled with food, family, and winter fun. I love Christmas!

Sarah is 4 years old!

I cannot believe that it has been two years since I began this blog! My little Sarah is not so little anymore. It is amazing to look back at two winters ago and see the changes. This post is devoted to Sarah's 4th birthday party at (you guessed it) Amerisport Gymnastics! She has been gymnastics obsessed since her party last year and would hear of no other location for this year. Sarah was as wired as I have ever seen her in the days leading up to the party. We did have a few complications on the way there as you can see below.

She was a little too overzealous with the headphones and got them tangled with her hair bow (mom's nightmare). She threw such a fit about her hair! I had to snap this photo for posterity before bringing the Sarah hairdo back to life.

Once inside the gym, her spirits lifted considerably.


As her friends began arriving, we snapped some cute photos. Sarah and Maura...

Brandy made a beautiful birthday cake for the party. I bought these figurines at the Disney Store. I am very pleased with how it turned out!

She is now attending preschool three days a week and is flourishing. She is in the pre -reading stage of recognizing sight words. What a great age! Happy Birthday Sarah!
