Summer family Memories

I am well aware that this blog is officially outdated.  I am working like crazy to keep my home and family in order.  Since Leah's mobility, the blog has landed on the back burner.  But I simply can't skip precious family memories due to the fact that I am binding these for my children to inherit.  I only wish I had this much information on my childhood.  Time has erased so many memories. 

Leah and Alena are so cute together.   Alena is outgoing and Leah is quiet but on the go all the time.  They are already great friends.  I am sure they will become closer as the years pass.

      I love these girls!

Leah is definitely a summer girl.  She is so much happier outside in nature.  If only the sun weren't burning so bright, you could see those beautiful baby blues.

Here she is with one of her favorite things in the world... Our dog Katie. She is preparing for the like that she knows is coming :)

Speaking of favorite people.  One of our favorites is Aunt Amy.  Here we are at Darlin' Jeans in Midway sharing a delicious pizza.  Can't you just smell it?  Yummmm!

Mom and Dad visited some this summer.  One day we went to a local elementary school to enjoy the playground.  I think this is one of Leah's first "swings".

  She is not quite sure what to think of it all.

                        Sarah, on the other hand, is the old pro. 

I think this officially ends my summer photos.  Yay!  But boo to cold weather.  I cant wait for May.   New updates coming soon.

The last days of summer...

Yes, I am aware that as I blog about our final summer exploits it is a balmy 32 degrees outside. What can I say, I am a busy woman! I just couldn't let the year pass me by without adding some of our favorite summer memories from 2010. Due to the fact that Chris was gone much of the summer, we spent a great deal of time at home playing with friends and neighbors. Below is just some of the summer fun.

Sarah and our Neighbor Laura are having a blast on the bouncy house in the 90 plus degree heat!

Luckily, Laura also shares Sarah's passion for all things princess. What a cute Bell she made!

Sarah saved her money to buy this beautiful castle (well at least half of it :).

It made a lovely location for a tea party with the princesses.

Laura loved munching on the crackers, grapes and juice.

We are so sad to hear that she will be moving to Florida soon. Sarah will sorely miss her next summer.


Speaking of moving, we also had our good friends Lily and Liam over for one last play date before Liam before Amy and Liam moved back to Georgia (it seems like we are losing all of our friends...)

Of course, Sarah would not let this event go without a tea party.

She was a very nice hostess for her guests.

Leah spent much of the summer enjoying her baby toys, like this jumper. All good things come to and end. She has since moved on to bigger and better now that she is mobile.

We also celebrated Chris's birthday this summer.

Papaw Coleman came over to help celebrate. What a great grandfather the girls have. He is always here for us during the week if we need him (he works second shift and picks Sarah up from school at lunch time).

I love summer, and I hated to see it go....

Girls, Girls everywhere!

What is in the water? The McReynolds family has grown by leaps and bounds in the past 13 months with the addition of 3 girls! No boys yet to speak of (and no, I don't plan on contributing any more to our number). There are females everywhere you look these days. Good thing they are all so cute!

These two have become fast friends. They are so intrigued by one another. The amazing thing is that even though they are only three months apart, they will be in different grades. Leah will be in the same grade as baby Aubrey.

The new star of the show.. baby Aubrey. Can you just hear the teen angst coming from the McReynolds household during holiday visits to the mountains in about 13 years? Yikes! No seriously, we are all blessed beyond measure and we love our girls.

Baby Aubrey arrives!

My neice Aubrey Fay McReynolds entered this world on July 23, 2010. What a beauty! This addition makes the grandchild count 4/ 0 in the girl to boy ratio. Mom says the girls can form a quarted some day. As expected, Aubrey arrived with a head full of dark hair. Believe it or not, not one single redhead in the bunch!

Random thoughts (Missing summer already)

Boy am I going to miss summer! My fondest memories are of long hot days, nights catching lightening bugs, fireworks, and sharing watermelon with my Mamaw and Papaw on their back patio. For me, summer can't last long enough. Thanks to our new water feature, we have spent more time in the backyard this year than any year since we have lived in this house. I thought I would share a couple of action shots from all of the fun we have had, since today was our last 90 degree day in sight(sniff, sniff).


These two have been backyard play buddies all summer. Maura and Sarah have had so much fun in the pool and the bouncy house.



I love this action shot the most. It really shows the pure joy of childhood. Don't you miss it?

More random thoughts...Check out the morning hair on my girlies. Sarah has stick straight hair, and since it has been shoulder length, it tends to look pretty good, even in the morning. Leah, on the other hand, has been "blessed" with her mommy's thick curly hair. I have been hesitating to get it cut, but it is now getting out of hand! It looks like she knows it in this photo. Ha!

It's too early in the morning for a photo shoot, Mom.



Crazy hair or not, she is a cutie petutie!
